We as a family are fervent devotees of Goddess Laxmi. My grandfather started the construction of the temple opposite Sarasbaug, which is devoted to the Goddess Laxmi, Goddess Saraswati, and Goddess Mahakali. My father completed the temple and today the Mahalaxmi Temple, Sarasbaug, is an important landmark and a place of worship in Pune.

While I worship Goddess Laxmi with full devotion and surrender, with Women’s Day today, I also reflect on the Goddess’ in my life. To me, I have four of them.

The first is my mother. She is a reflection of the Goddess herself. She is closely attached to the temple and to the devotees and ensures the upkeep of the temple. Much of her time is spent looking after our home. She ensures she keeps her family healthy and happy by having a close control over what goes in and out of her kitchen. Every day she prays to God for the happiness for our family and I truly believe that her prayers are the sole reason for our prosperity.

My wife is the most important person in my life. A bold and strong woman, she can take charge of any situation – easy or difficult. Having an eye for beauty and class, her strong decision-making ability along with great aesthetics makes her a unique leader. Detailed, precision work and a no-nonsense attitude further define her. Her support to me during all life’s challenges and in my business is something that I can only be grateful for. Her love for the family including my parents, her parents, and our children is expressed even when she is the busiest. God, thank you, I am very very lucky to have her.

My two daughters are the ones that I love the most. My darlings are soft-spoken, very creative and intelligent. I thank God for giving them to me.

I just thought that when we celebrate International Women’s Day, let me write down about my women, who are my strength, my reason for happiness and my reason to work and live. I thank God for them in my life and wish everyone a very Happy Women’s Day.
